Felix steps up to Formula 3

Following three seasons and as many championship titles in Formula Renault, 18-year-old Swede Felix Rosenqvist will shift his focus towards Europe and Formula 3 in 2010. Rosenqvist has signed with Performance Racing to race in the German F3 series - a championship previously won by the likes of Jarno Trulli, Kris Nissen, Bernd Schneider, Tom Kristensen and Michael Schumacher.
”This is the perfect step for me and I’m very happy to get the chance to race in Formula 3,” Felix Rosenqvist says. ”We had a number of alternatives for this year, but I have always found F3 one of the most interesting junior categories - and almost every Formula 1 driver has passed through it. As a further incentive, Performance Racing operates closely with Volkswagen and has a lot of experience from the class. The conditions are right and I’m looking forward to driving a new - and faster - car after my years in Formula Renault!”
